We arrived a little early for my brother the next morning, so we caught a taxi into town and walked around a couple of shops and food markets. (We were also offered some turtle eggs from a street vendor!)
We decided to go to Sepilok immediately as there were rain showers forecast later in the day.
We didn't see very many, and the sweat was just pouring off me as we stood in the jungle environment.
I'm quite happy with these two pictures, taken by chance as we were leaving.
This is what an orang-utan nest looks like, high up in the trees.
And, finally, a black squirrel.
(And the rain did come, so just as well we went when we did......I felt like royalty in front of all the other tourists, being escorted to my brothers bakkie with an umbrella......certainly helps travelling with the locals!)
