We began a Keir tradition a few years back, where Santa Claus phoned Maxine on Christmas Eve. We thought last year would be our last year, as Maxine was becoming suspicious, so the character was changed to Jimmy the Elf, who speaks to her through the Chistmas tree, by walkie-talkie (her old baby monitor!)
Last night Maxine (now 10) took herself off to go and shower, and began to sing 'Santa Claus is coming to town' whilst in the shower.......it was just too sweet! Later she came downstairs and sat by the tree, and began singing the song again........so 'Jimmy' sprang into action.
It was serious business...she'd even written down what she wanted to say!
And she didn't want to say goodbye!
It was such a pleasure watching her.
Maxine even dressed up as an elf this morning and took it upon herself to hand out the presents that were under the tree......such a sweetie!
There is such a beautiful innocence in her, and I feel truly blessed to be a part of that!
